With an imaginary island and a wonderful company the 3rd cycle for a different life begins. This Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 5.00 p.m. watch on ERT1 the first episode (Part 1) dedicated to Kythera.
Athena Maximou, Emilio Chilakis and Mirella Papakonomou introduce us to the Kythera they love.
The lovely Mrs. Eleni Harou and the agile Spyros Kasimatis show us unknown places on the island that were loved by Greek and foreign intellectuals, travelers, painters, poets...
Life in a different way with Ina Tarantou
Ina Tarantou continues her travels throughout Greece and sees life differently. The journey becomes the destination and life is experienced through the eyes of those she meets.
“Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by the people, places and moments that take our breath away.”.
The serene Kythnos, the impressive Milos with its rare landscapes and flavours, Serifos with its disarming simplicity, the lush green Kefalonia and Ithaca, the cinematic Messolonghi and the steep Karpathos are just some of the stops on this new great journey. Nikos Aliagas, Elias Mamalakis and Vassilis Zooulias are some of the people who showed us their favourite destinations after opening their hearts to us.
Stories of people whose everyday life shows optimism, strength and hope. People who have chosen to stay forever, to return forever, or to always return to their place. Through their «eyes» we see life, history and the beauty of our land.
Each story shows us, with its own beauty, another side of the Greek land, of Greek society, of Greek reality. Sometimes looking into the future and sometimes having deep roots in the past.
The countryside and nature, gastronomy, musical traditions, sports and customs, arts and science are the best vehicle to see Life differently, wherever we find ourselves. With people as our compass, through the show, we will document everyday life in every part of Greece, we will live life together as if it were Life differently. We will taste, we will listen, we will dance, we will laugh, we will be moved. And we will learn all those things that can only be learned when shared.
Because life is more beautiful when you dare to live it differently!
«Kythera, the island of Harmony» Part A
The Kythera we imagined and the Kythera we met were the same place.
Kythera has always been an ideal place. Almost utopian. Full of contrasts and perhaps because of that, a place of harmony. But also of beauty, as according to Hesiod, it is the island where the goddess Aphrodite was born.
We began our tour by arriving at the Venetian Castle above Chora, with the best tour guide. Ms. Eleni, full of love and incredible knowledge about her island.
Actors Emilios Cheilakis and Athina Maximou continued the narrative about this island that is not loved, but adored.
Neither of them is from Kythira, but this is their island. The island that fills their memories as a couple every year, filling them with moments of joy, nature, friends, and each other. But behind the relationship they have developed with the island of harmony is Mirella Papaikonomou. The magical pen, which, due to her scripts and television series, spontaneously but so catalytically chose to be set in Kythira, revealed the island's charms and forever enchanted a large artistic circle. And for all of them, Mirella's home is the central gathering place. With Spiros, the island's iconic figure and an expert in sea and land exploration, we will reach the Byzantine castle town of Paleochora, or the Mystras of Kythira, listening to exciting stories and myths.
In Kythira, we found genuine people who form selective bonds and real relationships. And it is this energy that gives the island its unique charm and harmony. In Kythira, we learned that the dream of happiness and joy is delicate. And only if you have peace in your soul can you live your life differently.
