On the eve and on the day of our National Day, 24 and 25 March, we had the pleasure of enjoying Gregory Alissandrakis at the tavern “Mr Antonis the Morphonians”, in Livadi Kythera, in a two-day frenetic celebration and «wine obsession».
The musicians who accompanied Grigoris' group, Andreas Georgilakis on the lute, George Gikas on percussion and Kostas Mitropoulos on guitar and singing, gave their best in two Cretan feasts that we definitely missed in Kythera and we hope they will be repeated with the same success.
Grigoris Alissandrakis lived in Kythera and stood out with his ethos and his active presence in the cultural events of the island, founding the Cretan, Cypriot and Antikytherian Association, giving Cretan lyre lessons at the Anagenis Conservatory of Kythera and organizing a traditional dance group with incredible participation of our neighbors. His recent commitments have led him to Athens, but he is always open to suggestions and invitations from our island. We thank him warmly!
