Worsening weather conditions with heavy rain and storms are forecast for most of the country from midday tomorrow until Monday night (12/2). According to the EMY's Special Weather Report, the intense phenomena will begin in the northwest gradually spreading to the rest of the west, the northeast mainland, the eastern Aegean islands, and the Dodecanese, while parts of the central country will also be temporarily affected.
Winds at sea will be strong, reaching 7 to 8 and locally 9 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea.
More specifically:
A. Heavy rain and storms are forecast:
Tomorrow
a. From midday onwards in the northern Ionian Sea and Epirus.
b. From the afternoon hours in the southern Ionian Sea, western mainland Greece, eastern Macedonia, and Thrace.
c. From the evening hours in the western and possibly southern Peloponnese.
On Monday (12/2)
a. Locally in the early morning hours in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, western mainland Greece, and western Peloponnese, with rapid weakening of the phenomena from the north.
b. From the early morning hours in the eastern parts of central Macedonia, eastern Macedonia, and Thrace, with a gradual weakening of the phenomena from midday onwards.
c. Temporarily in the early morning hours in the eastern Peloponnese, eastern mainland Greece (including Attica), and southern Euboea. In the morning hours, the northern Cyclades may also be temporarily affected.
d. From the early morning hours on the islands of the eastern Aegean. The intense phenomena from the afternoon will be limited to the southernmost parts and will gradually weaken.
e. From the afternoon in the Dodecanese. During the night towards Tuesday (13/2), the strong phenomena will be limited to the area of Kastellorizo and will gradually weaken.
B. Stormy winds from the south will blow from the early hours of tomorrow morning:
a. In the Aegean Sea, with winds of 7 to 8 and temporarily up to 9 Beaufort. From Monday afternoon (12/2), the stormy winds will be limited to the Dodecanese region and will gradually weaken.
b. In the Ionian Sea, with winds of 7 to 8 Beaufort, gradually weakening from midday tomorrow.
