Would-be travellers around the world are experiencing immense inconvenience at most airports this summer due to a series of circumstances that have turned air travel into a Golgotha.
The return of passengers after two years of pandemic, increased tourist traffic, soaring transport costs by other means combined with huge staff shortages at airports are some of the causes that have caused chaos at many airports, with delays, long queues and cancellations becoming more and more intense.
Seven of the 10 most delayed airports worldwide this summer - ranked by the percentage of scheduled flights delayed - are in Europe, according to FlightAware data.
Unfortunately, the Athens International Airport «El.Venizelos» is also on the list.
