Oil prices were rising in the early hours of the morning after an Iranian-attributed attack on a Kuwaiti-flagged tanker at a Dubai port that caused a fire, with no injuries reported, according to the emirate's official KUNA news agency.
The price of a barrel of North Sea Brent was up by 2.051 TP3T to $109.59 at around 03:40 (GMT), while that of West Texas Intermediate, the US benchmark variety, was up by 2.961 TP3T to $105.93.
The price of WTI closed yesterday above $100 a barrel for the first time since the outbreak of the US-Israel war against Iran on February 28.
