Serious problems in most of the country's ferry routes have caused today, Sunday, the very strong to gusty south winds blowing in eastern Greece and mainly in the Aegean Sea, reaching 8 Beaufort and locally in the eastern parts of 9 Beaufort.
A no sailing ban is in force from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio, while the routes to the Saronic Gulf are only operated with conventional vessels after 11:30 in the morning.
At the same time, the lines Agia Marina-Nea Styra, Kavala-Prinos Thassos and Alexandroupoli-Samothraki remain closed due to the adverse weather conditions.
Passengers intending to travel are advised to contact their local port authorities and travel agencies before departure for possible changes or modifications to their itineraries.
