Police say the motive for the murderous attack on three youths at around one o'clock after midnight in Thessaloniki Harilaou Thessaloniki, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old man from a knife wound, while two of his friends, aged 19 and 20 respectively, were injured and taken to a city hospital.
The murder occurred at the junction of Theod. Gazi and N. Plastira, near the Aris stadium, where the three young men were moving on foot. According to the initial information gathered by the police, unknown persons in two cars approached them, while reports indicate that the attack was preceded by a brief exchange of words between the perpetrator or perpetrators and the victims.
The 19-year-old appears to have succumbed to uncontrollable bleeding, while the two injured were taken from the EKAV and are being treated out of danger at the Papanikolaou Hospital where, according to the police, they are being treated out of danger.
Police officers of the Department of Crimes against Life of the Security Department of Thessaloniki undertook the investigations, taking statements from residents of the area, while examining footage from security cameras of adjacent shops. As soon as conditions allow, both injured persons will testify.
Fifteen people from the surrounding area were arrested for the incident but reportedly do not appear to be involved.
