The Kythira Citizens“ Movement ”Dynamo Kythira” continues to hold open informational meetings at a steady pace in the island’s villages, with the aim of providing ongoing information and fostering social dialogue regarding the planned installation of three industrial wind farms by TERNA Energy and Vector.
Η next event will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., at the Livadi Stage, one of the liveliest and most accessible villages on the island.
The discussion will focus on:
- The impact of the planned projects on Natura protected areas.
- The changes anticipated for the island's topography.
- Objections regarding the lack of public participation and the lack of institutional transparency.
- The need for the immediate adoption of the Special Environmental Study, which has been delayed for 21 months.
Citizen mobilization now takes place on a weekly basis, with the aim of raising awareness in every local community and strengthening the collective response to the transformation of Kythira into an industrial wind energy park. Previous meetings in Palaiopoli, Agia Pelagia, Potamos, and Chora saw high turnout and creative dialogue.
