Sparta. With the famous American woman, but permanent resident of Kythera (!) author - historian, Helena P. Schrader, and her colleague, Professor Konstantinos Karkanias met on the afternoon of Tuesday 10 May, the Mayor of Sparta Petros Dukas, accompanied by the Vice President of the Municipality's Legal Entity for Culture and Environment, Eleni Tsoulogiannis.

The subject of the meeting was «...the utilization of the unique books on ancient Sparta by the author Mrs. Schrader, for the intellectual benefit of the Spartan public».»
Book presentation and actions to promote Sparta
More specifically, the presentation of Schrader's book entitled «Leonidas Sparta: Towards the Thermopylae» which is even «of great commercial appeal worldwide».
In addition, further actions were launched to promote the importance of the city of Sparta.
Who is Helena P. Schrader
Helena P. Schrader was born and raised in America. Earned a PhD in History from the University of Hamburg with a groundbreaking biography of a leader of the German resistance to Hitler.
He served in the financial services industry before joining the US diplomatic corps, where he served in various positions in Africa and Europe. He retired in 2018 and because of the great love he had and still has for Greece and its culture moved to Kythera where she lives permanently with her husband. Since then he has published numerous works of fiction and non-fiction, several of which have won one or more literary awards.
