Two more defendants, executives of ERGOSE, who apologized before the European Investigator Christina Salappa for the contract 717 on projects for signalling and telecommand of the railway network, left the courts free with the obligation to pay a very high financial guarantee, greater than those imposed to date for the case, totaling 1.7 million euros. .
The investigator and the competent European Public Prosecutor Poppy Papandreou considered that the two accused from ERGOSE after the long apologies they gave, can be released with the restrictive condition of the prohibition to leave the country and the obligation to pay a financial guarantee to be paid within a certain period of time. For one defendant the bail was set at EUR 800 thousand, while for the other defendant it was set at EUR 900 thousand. .
To date before Ms. Sallapa had apologized three executives of ERGOSE in which the financial guarantees were set at 600 thousand, 500 thousand and 700 thousand euros.
After today's apologies and with the imposition of guarantees that now totals 3.5 million euros, Ms.Salappa will receive in the coming days apologies of nine other defendants from ERGOSE, and then will follow the apologies of four accused executives of the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme for Infrastructure, Transport, Environment and Sustainable Development (EID/EP-YMEPERAA). The last to cross the threshold of the interrogation office are expected to be the five private individuals, executives of the consortium that undertook the project.
