The incident occurred on May Day. A video shows a group of young people in a tavern in Edipsos where one of them lures a kitten with food and then kicks it towards the sea.
On Monday morning, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, intervened on the issue, who contacted the Chief of the Greek Police, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Skumas and the Commander of the Electronic Crime Investigation Police Director Vassilis Papakosta, asking to find the perpetrator.
The minister said that the law on animal protection will be done as provided for in the law.
It is noted that torturing an animal is a felony and carries a fine of up to 50,000 euros and a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
For their amusement he kicks the animal and throws it into the sea. No one stops him, everyone laughs. But he forgot that it is now a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to 50,000 euros.
