The first batch of 9,750 doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech arrived in Greece today via Promahon and vaccinations are expected to start immediately.
The vaccines will be stored in special, dedicated areas that meet all the requirements for the storage of pharmaceutical products and from there they will be distributed to the vaccination centres.
First to be vaccinated will be people on the front line of health care and those in closed facilities.
On 27 December, the first vaccinations will be carried out in the reference hospitals of Attica: Evangelismos Hospital, Sotiria Hospital, Attica Hospital, Attica Hospital, Thriasio and Asclepion of Voula. On Sunday 27/12 the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be vaccinated.
The next day, December 28, the distribution will be made to the reference hospitals, the University Hospital of Larissa, AHEPA, the University Hospital of Ioannina and Patras, so that the vaccinations can begin on December 29 to the health personnel of these hospitals.
By 30 December we will, barring any unforeseen circumstances, receive the first large batch of 83,850 doses of Pfizer vaccines. The deliveries of Pfizer vaccines corresponding to our population, based on the central European agreement, are to be delivered by the end of January, 429 000 doses and another 333 450 doses by the end of February.
By the end of March we will have received 1,265,550 doses from just one company, Pfizer-BioNTech.
