The application process—including the submission of region preference forms—for the hiring of temporary substitute teachers, as well as hourly-paid teachers, for the 2026–2027 school year.
Pursuant to Invitation No. 107933/E1/August 13, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Education, Religion, and Sports, specific categories of prospective teachers are invited to submit their preferences electronically through the Integrated Information System for the Management of Primary andSecondary Education (OPSYD).
Specifically, those registered with the following are invited:
(a) provisional ranking lists of first-round candidates for teaching positions in primary and secondary general education in the fields of PE01, PE02, PE03, PE04, PE05, PE06, PE07, PE08, PE11, PE33, PE34, PE40, PE41, PE60, PE70, PE73, PE78, PE79, PE80, PE81, PE82, PE83, PE84, PE85, PE86, PE87, PE88, PE89, PE90, PE91 of the ASEP Announcements 1GE/2026 and 2GE/2026 (which were posted on the official website of the Independent Authority of ASEP),
(b) final evaluation and ranking lists of first-place candidates for secondary general education teaching positions in the fields TE01, TE02, TE16, DE01, and DE02 under ASEP Announcements 1GT/2024 and 2GD/2024 (which were published, respectively, in the Government Gazette, Series C, No. 2362/June 26, 2025, and Series C, No. 1420/April 11, 2025),
(c) the final ranking lists for Category B and the final supplementary ranking lists referred to in paragraph 4 of Article 58 of Law 4589/2019 for prospective primary and secondary school teachers in the special education categories PE71 and PE61 and the categories PE01, PE02, PE03, PE04, PE05, PE06, PE07, PE08, PE11, PE33, PE34, PE40, PE41, PE60, PE70, PE73, PE78, PE79, PE80, PE81, PE82, PE83, PE84, PE85, PE86, PE87, PE88, PE89, PE90, PE91, TE01, TE02, and TE16, with a specialization in Special Education (E.A.E.) under ASEP Announcements 3EA/2025 and 4EA/2025, (which were published, respectively, in the Government Gazette, Series C, No. 3363, July 8, 2026, and Series C, No. 2251, May 7, 2026),
submit an application and statement of preferences via the online platform of the Integrated Information System for Primary and Secondary Education Personnel Management (O.P.S.Y.D.) (https://opsyd.sch.gr) for employment as substitute teachers, on a full-time and/or part-time basis, and/or as hourly-paid teachers, under a fixed-term employment contract governed by private law, with a duration of up to one (1) academic year in general education, special education, in Music Schools, Art Schools, Model/Experimental Schools, Model Ecclesiastical Schools, the School of European Education (S.E.P.) in Heraklion, Crete, the Sivitanidios Public School of Arts and Trades, reception facilities for the education of refugee children (DYEP), at the Centers for Interdisciplinary Assessment, Counseling, and Support (KEDASY), and in primary and secondary schools operating within correctional facilities, for the 2026–2027 school year.
Applications and statements of preferred regions must be submitted from Friday, August 14, through Monday, August 24, 2026.
