The content of the new Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD), which changes the system of the Greek government, will enter into force on Monday 14 June. opening hours in food stores (supermarkets, ovens, etc.). The same EIO provides that the population coming to receive a self-diagnostic test is not counted, regardless of whether they are carrying out a commercial transaction. This exemption applies to food shops, pharmacies, pet shops, pet shops, dry cleaners and shops selling tobacco/vaping products.
A source at the Ministry of Development, in order to avoid any confusion, explained that the above paragraph does not mean that the «opening» of the disposal of self-test will apply to all the above categories of shops.
For the health care establishments providing services focus continue to operate exclusively in an open outdoor area and from 12 June 2021 also in outdoor areas located in ventilated galleries (provided that these have two open sides), and will serve only seated customers, with the possibility of operating from 5:00 to 1:15 and under the known sanitary conditions.
What applies to the farmers' markets
As regards the farmers' markets, the compulsory extension of the shopping area or the operation of parallel markets in the event of insufficient space in terms of the distance between stalls. Until June 14, the 50% measure of 50% of producers/traders' stalls with five meters distance between stalls to be operated in each market (main and parallel) is maintained.
From 15 June 2021, the distance will become one metre on either side of the stalls and one and a half metres between persons, with a self test at least once a week for vendors and market workers.
Retail
For the operation of the retailer businesses, including shopping malls and discount villages and retail shops operating under shop-in-a-shop agreements, the ratio of 1 person per 25 sq.m. Especially in mobile phone shops, the simultaneous presence of up to 4 customers is allowed in areas of up to 100 sq.m.
There are also extended opening hours from 7:00 to 21:00, while commercial shops are allowed to operate within the country's airports.
