Recommendation to the private electricity suppliers contribute to absorption of increases, addressed by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas, at a meeting held late yesterday.
At the meeting, the measures put in place by the government were presented, culminating in the subsidy of the tariff of all suppliers by 30 euros per megawatt hour for the four months of September - December. According to the information, the minister called for the consumer to be supported in the context of the functioning of competition.
On the other hand, some companies raised concerns about the verification of the price evolution scenarios on which the estimate of retail tariffs was based, given that the crisis at international level continues. The energy price for today on the Greek market is 172,77 euros per megawatt hour (the maximum is 209,66 euros), at the same level as in Spain and Portugal and slightly lower than in Italy, where the price will reach 174,58 euros tomorrow. The issue of energy cost increases will also be raised at the EU Energy Council of Ministers which will meet next week.
