Extraordinary wide-ranging meeting under the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the seismic phenomena in Santorini and Amorgos and a press conference on the relevant data is currently taking place at the Ministry of Civil Protection.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias, officers of the Armed Forces and heads of Civil Protection, responsible for the management of the situation in the Cyclades and the preventive measures already taken to deal with the seismic activity.
The scientific data on the evolution of the phenomenon are presented by the Evi Nomikos, Professor at the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University of Athens, the Costas Papazachos, Professor of Geophysics and Seismology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Efthymis Lekkas, Professor of Dynamic Tectonics and Applied Geology and President of the OASP.
