To retune their television receivers, in order to continue watching the channels, the residents of Laconia and of Kythira.
The change of frequencies of the digital signal of television channels was originally scheduled for 30 September last year, however - as informed by the Digea- due to the earthquake in Crete, this date was postponed and the change will take place on Wednesday 20 October in three transmission centres, namely Anavriti, Kythira and Reichea.
Residents who receive terrestrial digital signal from these broadcast centres - and have a receiver compatible with HD technology (TV or set-top box) - will have access to private national TV stations in high definition from Wednesday 20 October.
Viewers will need to retune their TV receivers, either automatically or manually (frequencies 22/482 MHz and 34/578 MHz).
Note, however, that viewers will not have to pay for the purchase of any new equipment.
