With a certificate of vaccination or infection, a negative PCR result of 72 hours and a negative rapid test result of 48 hours, from Monday 5 July, citizens who want to travel to the islands will be able to, as announced yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Chardalias during a briefing on the progress of the pandemic of Covid-19 infection.
In particular, from 5 July the following will apply:
For travel to the islands will be required:
- For adults:
(a) a certificate of vaccination or a certificate of infection,
(b) negative PCR result in the last 72 hours,
(c) a negative rapid test result in the last 48 hours.
- For minors 12 to 17 years old: any test, including the self-test
- While minors up to 12 years old travel freely.
On the return from the islands it is recommended that everyone over 12 years of age should take a self-test.
The measure excludes Evia, Lefkada and Salamina, and also excludes
a) those who move between different island Regional Units for work purposes on a daily basis. These will be moved by means of a weekly self test as already in force.
(b) those moving between islands located at very short distances or on ferries linking the mainland with islands at short distances. They will be moved by means of a weekly self-test if they are workers, as is already the case, and by means of a pre-movement self-test for the rest.
Regarding land travel, Mr.Hardalias said that the government is evaluating the epidemiological data on the mainland and the situation will be reassessed in the coming weeks.
