The third stage will start from the Navarino Dunes area of Costa Navarino, located in Messinia, in one of the most enchanting coastal landscapes of the Mediterranean.
Gialova with Paleokastro and the enchanting beach of Voidokilia, Pylos with its ancient, medieval, and modern history, and the Gulf of Navarino with the island of Sfaktiria, will convey images of unique beauty to every corner of the Earth through television broadcasts.
The peloton will head towards Methoni with its castle and Bourtzi, the city that Agamemnon offered to Achilles to appease his wrath, and immediately afterwards the athletes will pass through the first intermediate sprint of the day, in Finikounda (km 28).
The first uphill sprint (category 1) is located in Poros, 37 kilometers after the start, followed by Koroni, famous for its Venetian castle. The route will continue along the coast to the town of Petalidi, reaching the second intermediate sprint, located outside Kalamata's Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos International Airport (km 88.4).
The 120 cyclists will make a left-hand semi-circle in the Prefecture of Messinia and pass outside Ancient Messene and Meligala to reach the second sprint climb in Kopanaki (km 133.2). Shortly afterwards, descending towards Kalo Nero, they will face the endless blue of the Ionian Sea and a left turn will bring them to the final stretch to the finish line in the central square of Kyparissia, with the victory most likely to be decided in a mass sprint.
