Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger platforms are down as they suffer massive outages potentially affecting tens of millions of users worldwide, according to websites specialising in these platforms.
Both Facebook and Instagram social media and the California giant's two messaging services WhatsApp and Messenger are experiencing massive outages today.
The Down Detector website today reported mainly damage in densely populated areas such as Washington DC and Paris.
What Facebook responds
Facebook's communications manager Andy Stone said in a Twitter post that the company is aware that many users are unable to log in and that «we are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible».
