In a press release released, the Municipality of Kythera posted the studies for the completion of the Municipal Open Theatre of Potamos. The total budget of the project is 715.000€ (including VAT).
Here is the press release:
The Municipality of Kythera publishes and posts the studies for the completion of the Municipal Open Theatre of Potamos, by the engineers Dimitrios Krokidis, Ioannis Avgeris and Georgios Tsagarakis.
The studies were awarded through a tender and the cost of 25.000€ was covered by the Municipality's own resources. The process of tendering, contracting and completion of the studies took more than 2 years.
The Municipal Authority, by completing the studies for the Potamos Theatre, implements another commitment and now - after the final licensing of the project (Archaeology, Forestry, SA, etc.) - will seek the appropriate funding of 715,000 € (including VAT).

The mayor of Kythera, Efstratios Harhalakis placed on the issue in his personal profile on Facebook. Mr:
«The River Theatre is one of the biggest failures and loose ends we took delivery of in 2014. Unfinished and unsafe, unlicensed and unsafe, unacceptable to admit people in this unfinished state!
We have included in the budget the necessary amount for the studies. A detailed inventory of the required studies, which are specialised and for which there was no previous experience in our municipality, was prepared.
We put them out to tender, we ran into the change in the law (Law 4412), the first tender was unsuccessful, then came the coronavirus etc etc etc etc!
Anyway, now the studies are complete! Structural, architectural, special architectural, electromechanical! The budget of the project is 715.000€. Once the necessary approvals are obtained (even an AEP is required), I am sure we will find the funding!
Unfortunately, such serious issues now take a long time to resolve!
PRAY!»
