Closed Gym in Kythera - Time to make it happen
Congratulations to NAOK for their performance. Time for an indoor gym in Kythera.
On the occasion of the recent announcement of the Kythera Nautical Athletic Club (NAOK), which describes with pride and detail the stages of its competitive course, we feel the need to publicly express our sincere appreciation to the Administration, the athletes, their families and all the contributors of this remarkable effort. Their consistency, passion and selfless contribution keep the flame of sport alive in Kythera, offering the young people of the area a healthy and creative role model.
The recent acquisition of official sports recognition from the General Secretariat of Sports and the inclusion of NAOK in the EKASKEENOP mark a new chapter: our island enters dynamically into the field of competitive sports. The first championship starts in September - the long journey begins, and it is an honor for all of us.
But the time has come to pass from words to deeds. The need for the construction of a modern indoor gym on the island is no longer a luxury - it is a requirement of the local community and a prerequisite for the further development of sport. A functional, safe and accessible venue that can host training and competitions is urgently needed, giving our children and young people the same opportunities as those of mainland Greece.
We call on the Municipal Authority to recognize the importance of this necessity and to move decisively for the implementation of the project. There is no better investment for the future of the country than investing in its youth.
