Completed the redevelopment and landscaping works at the The valley of the Coastal Road of Agia Pelagia (old Customs House), which for almost 25 years remained abandoned and incomplete. This project will upgrade the settlement aesthetically, as the central point of the settlement will be beautified. The project was financed by the Region of Attica, with an amount of 77.595,42 € (original budget 100.000 € - discount rate 23,10%), while the Municipality of Kythera contributed financially, mainly regarding the lighting.
With this project, another long-standing pending issue in the field of urban regeneration, after the corresponding projects already completed in Fratsias (Region), Mitata (OPAX), Sklavianika (own resources of the Municipality) and Belvedere (own resources of the Municipality), projects that as a whole have been the requests of local communities for decades.
At the same time, through various financial instruments, the redevelopment studies for Potamos, Ag. Pelagia, Avlemonas and Chora are in the process of maturing, while the redevelopment of Kato Chora Mylopotamos has been submitted for funding from the Green Fund.
The Municipal Authority's firm position is that urban renewal projects are primarily projects of substance, as they upgrade the aesthetics of our island and at the same time have a positive impact on tourism and the economic development of the settlements.
