Official announcement of our withdrawal and cessation of representation from the “All Together” coalition”

In light of recent events and the many questions about our stance on the initiatives of Z. Souris and the ideologies of the “All Together” faction, my wife, Christina Zantioti, and I would like to make it clear to our fellow citizens that we oppose the stance and decisions of this faction.

In fact, our departure from the coalition was announced to the leader of the party in the first few days after the loss of our friend, Kosmas Tzortzopoulos.

Since those days, we have been at odds with the party's stance on how to deal with the tragic event and have chosen to leave, as we do not want to be represented by political interests and, in general, we do not agree with this way of decision-making by a group of people.

For us, the moral aspect of life is much more important than the political and legislative aspects.

Our parents raised us with ethics and respect for our fellow human beings, and we follow these principles as we try to raise our own children. Therefore, under no circumstances could we accept this “legitimate” choice (as claimed by the leader of the party) to put himself forward as a candidate for local councilor.

The ethical thing to do, out of respect for Kosmas' family and fellow villagers, would be for them to decide for themselves who they want to represent them from now on.

If we had such political views and supported such authoritarian decisions of the “we decide and we command” type, we would have been in another camp for a long time, one that has been doing this well for many years.

Because we love and care about our community—and we have proven this in every way possible—we will not stop offering and fighting for a better tomorrow for our children and the local community.

For this reason, we ask all our fellow citizens, from now on, whether they have an institutional role or not, to act based on common and ethical logic and not recklessly or with some temporary interest, which will later prove fatal and may cause discord and confrontation within a society of only 2,500 inhabitants, where – if nothing else – we know each other like the back of our hand.
