Fifty years after his first solo album, the Paul McCartney announced that it will release the December a new solo album, entitled «McCartney III», which will include songs created or reworked by the former member of the legendary The Beatles during the quarantine imposed last spring against the epidemic of the new coronavirus.
The new album, which will be released on December 11, is the third part of a trilogy, the first of which - his first solo album, McCartney, was released five decades ago. «McCartney II» followed ten years later, in 1980.
The former Beatles bassist explained, in a press release, that he had not originally planned to release an album in 2020, but the quarantine gave him the opportunity to rework old songs that had never been released and then the desire to write new ones was born.
The album «McCartney III», which he recorded in Sussex (southern England), is Paul McCartney's 18th solo album, following Egypt Station, which catapulted him to the top of the Billboard charts in 2018 for the first time in 36 years.
