Several people were shot at in the New York City subway, the local fire department says, according to Reuters.
Firefighters responded to calls of smoke at the 36th Street station in Brooklyn, where they found several people injured, a fire department spokesman said, and it was not immediately clear whether the shooting occurred on the train or at the 36th Street subway station in Sunset Park or the 25th Street station in Greenwood Heights.
The latest reports from the New York City Fire Department are that at least 13 injured from multiple gunshots in separate incidents, while photos from the scene, which are making the rounds on the internet, show people tending to injured passengers lying on the ground.
