The anniversary of the Revolution reminds us that nations take their place on the map of history with faith in their own strengths, unity and passion for freedom. This was stressed by the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, after the end of today's March 25th parade.
«The example of the Fighters of the 21st century‘, he stressed, »inspires and encourages us to preserve our national sovereignty«.
«The heroic uprising of our ancestors on 25 March 1821 led, after many struggles and sacrifices, to the shaking off of the Turkish yoke and the creation of the modern Greek state. A democratic and independent country, at the core of the European Union for years,» the President of the Republic said.
