Short greeting at the opening event of the global Digital Innovation Centre and of Global Operations and Services Centre of Pfizer, in Thessaloniki, addressed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday, 12/10.
The Prime Minister praised the Prime Minister CEO of Pfizer, Albert Burla, praising his contribution to the development and promotion of the new coronavirus vaccine.
He spoke of a landmark investment for the city of Thessaloniki, as in the next period more than 700 people are expected to be employed in the facilities of the new digital hub.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the «re-brain Greece», welcoming the repatriation of Greek scientists to work and excel in their country.
«The heart of Pfizer's human resources are the graduates of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Macedonia and this is particularly encouraging for the next day of Greece», Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed.
The Prime Minister called Thessaloniki «capital of extroversion», addressing the mayor of the city, Konstantinos Zervas.
«Here we are not just talking about well-paid jobs, but about a very high quality of work, with respect for the employee,» said Mitsotakis, who referred to an «innovative working environment», which employs a large number of women.
Mitsotakis appeals to citizens to get vaccinated
The Prime Minister appealed to the residents of Thessaloniki and Northern Greece to rush to get vaccinated, thus honouring Pfizer, a pioneer in the field of vaccinations.
«It's not just a shame, it's a drama, 20-40 people losing their lives every day. I personally will go after here to get the third dose of the vaccine, as the doctors told me,» he said.
