The issue of vandalism to the eucalyptus tree located on the pavement of the main road in Livadi, at the intersection with the Kalamos provincial road, was raised at the last meeting (Monday, October 31, 2022) of the Municipal Council of Kythira by the municipal councilor of the main opposition, Yiannis Kalligeros.
Mr. Yannis Kalligeros raised the issue of the two eucalyptus trees located on the roadside in Livadi, Kythira, and denounced the vandalism of one of the trees, asking whether the municipality had taken any legal action against the person who pruned the tree.
«Mr. Kalligeros is absolutely right, the cutting was done without permission. We were simply informed after the incident, and I would like to inform you that I have personally filed a complaint against all those responsible through the Kythira Police Station. It has been forwarded to the prosecutor,» replied the Mayor of Kythira, Efstratios Charhalakis, to Mr. Kalligeros.
