Η Turkey informed the international community and all international organisations on 11 August, that the Greece violates the Treaty of Paris 1947 which imposes demilitarisation regime in the Dodecanese because it performs military exercises in the MEIS (Kastelorizo) and for this issue it issued the relevant advertisement A4306/21, revealed by Militaire.gr.

The Turkish reaction is based on the Greek exercise covering the international sea and part of the territorial waters of Kastelorizo and the area is shown in blue on the map of Militaire.gr.

The execution date of the Greek exercise is August 12, 2021 and that in itself raises many questions and there are only two possible claims

Greece is in violation of the Papoulia-Yilmaz MOU, which prohibits exercises in the international Aegean Sea from 15 June to 15 September, since the Greek exercise is being carried out within the prohibited time limits of the MOU. .
The only way for Greece not to violate the MOU is for the Mitsotakis government to have agreed that the area east of Rhodes is NOT IN THE AEGEAN, but in the MEDITERRANEAN., which is not included in the MOU restrictions.

Indeed, the Mitsotakis government in September 2019 agreed with Turkey that the area east of Rhodes ( 28^os meridian) lies in the Mediterranean Sea - a move that has marked Greece and its national policy since the establishment of the state, since it allows Turkey to have 12nm territorial waters in the area due to the Mediterranean Sea and not 6nm due to the Aegean Sea, as was the case until September 2019. With the 12nm Turkish territorial waters in the area shown in red on the map, Turkey is mutilating the EEZ of Rhodes-Castelorizo and together, all Greek interests in the area, thus allowing the government in OROUS REIS to encroach on the Greek EEZ east of Rhodes and resulting in the Turkish/Libyan EEZ and the extension of the Turkish SAR area up to Kassos and all these together make up Turkey's Blue Homeland.

The government reacted by issuing the advertisement A 2541/21 for which the following are highlighted:

Although Turkey refers to Kastelorizo under the Turkish name MEIS, the government in its advertisement does not mention it by name as a GREEK ISLAND, so that, formally and practically, it accepts Turkey's position and the international community is looking for the owner of MEIS. On the contrary, on other occasions, Ankara demanded the demilitarization of Lemnos and Agios Stratis on the same grounds, the government reacted with an advertisement (A2383/30 July 2021) in which it states that «there is no obligation under any treaty or convention in force for the demilitarization of the GREEK ISLANDS of Agios Efstratios and Limnos», i.e., according to the Mitsotakis government ONLY Agios Stratis and Limnos are Greek, while Kastelorizo is...is unchristened with the only existing Turkish name MEIS.

The Paris Treaty does not prohibit military exercises in the Dodecanese ( Kastelorizo). There is no article, provision or note in the Treaty that prohibits exercises. However, this is not stated in the Greek Advertisement and as a result, Turkey's position prevails internationally.
However, Mr. Dendias and Mr. Panagiotopoulos falsely declare, to the detriment of the country, that Greece is arming the islands because it is threatened and that what is threatened is not demilitarized, making Greeks falsely nationally proud. These statements is legally a direct acceptance of a violation of the Treaties, which will sooner or later lead Greece into trouble.
Nevertheless, reality contradicts both ministers, because, what kind of armaments the government is arming and what kind of protection it is providing to the islands, when just recently a Turkish DROWN and 100 kilos of red paint defaced the Greek flag in Kastelorizo and the government was unable to shoot it down and prevent the national humiliation or at least shoot it down so it wouldn't leave. The red paint of DROWN alone proves that the government, not only does not arm the islands, but it disarms them and furthermore it proves how vulnerable the islands have been made by the «armaments» of the government...
Turkey, for its part, and depending on its ambitions, uses Kastelorizo as a barge and transfers it sometimes to the Aegean and sometimes to the Mediterranean.

Thus, in its «MEIS” advertisement, it states that Greece is in violation of the 1947 Paris Treaty regarding the demilitarization status of the islands of the Eastern Hemisphere. Aegean Islands...” Although Turkey claims that Kastelorizo lies in the Mediterranean Sea to have 12nm territorial waters, yet in this case it includes Kastelorizo and the entire area of the Greek exercise in the Aegean to kill two birds with one stone. The first one is the violation of the Treaty by Greece because of the Greek exercise and the second one, since the area is in the Aegean Sea, Greece is violating the Papoulia-Gilmaz MOU.

Finally, as shown on the map, the area in red, which is an international sea and within the Athens FIR, Turkey has illegally made it a Turkish sovereign territory because it includes it in the Mediterranean Sea (12nm Turkish territorial waters).

The Greek area in blue does not touch; it overlaps the Turkish area, which is tantamount to a direct acceptance that the Greek government respects the illegal Turkish territory at the expense of Greece. This is proven by the fact that the government has planned several times exercises in an area east of Rhodes, but in no exercise does it NOT overlap the Turkish territory, apparently to avoid what SYRIZA did when the Turks kicked half of the Cabinet, who wanted to fly with a military helicopter into the illegal Turkish territory.
