It's the crucial week for decision-making by the Committee of Infectious Diseases for the period of Easter. Decisions, which are expected to be announced early in Holy Week and will have to do with the moving from county to county but also the churching of the faithful during the holy days of Easter.

«Easter »loses ground" in the village

Given that citizens are now unable to comply with the measures - as demonstrated by the dozens of coronation party held daily in the squares of major cities - experts are not expected to give the green light to move out of the county during the festive season. This is because, they fear, people will not show caution and restraint in their social interactions, resulting in the risk of re-transmission of the virus in areas that currently have a low epidemiological burden.

Of course, moving out of the county is fully intertwined with the official opening of tourism, which is set for May 14, with the government seeming unwilling to «sacrifice» the «heavy artillery» of the economy for travel.

The issue of the opening of churches on Easter days, on the other hand, is another headache for the government. While the government and the Archdiocese are discussing in order to find the golden mean, experts are struggling to find the ideal formula for the operation of churches. According to reports, the government is leaning towards a design that would see worshippers gathering in the courtyards of the churches, while looking for a way to keep distances between them.

The self test in the frame

At the same time, the self-test seems to be the safety valve in this case as well, with the most prevalent scenario being the self-diagnostic test, at least twice a week, for priests, cantors and church workers.

Those who carry out the self-tests should register them on the relevant platform as is done from today on retail trade and for a few days now in the schools.
