The EU approved the extraordinary amendment to the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020, which concerns the activation of the new Measure 21 «Emergency, temporary support to farmers of sectors particularly affected by the impact of pandemic COVID-19» to support the olive oil sector with €126 million.
The adoption of the amendment, which exhausted the statutory financial possibilities of the CAF to relieve producers from the effects of the pandemic, was the result of cooperation with the relevant EU services.
Applications for support for the olive sector will be accepted until 27 November.
The relevant Call for Proposals for the measure
According to the Invitation, Beneficiaries of the aid are the main occupational farmers (KKEA) based on the Register of Farmers and Agricultural Holdings (MAFE) up to the deadline for submitting tax returns for the year 2020 (income for the year 2019), who have in their legal possession an eligible, identified area of land with olive cultivation of oilseed and/or dual-purpose olives, excluding the Kalamata variety (Kalamatiani, Tsigoli, Aetonychi), dual-purpose, as shown in the Single Application for Aid (SAC) for the 2019 financial year at the close of the 2020 financial year.
Deadline for online applications
The period for submission of applications by interested parties is set from 17/11/2020 to 27/11/2020 on the dedicated online platform developed for this purpose and in particular on the website Measure 21 - Exceptional temporary support to farmers in the olive oil sector particularly affected by the effects of the COVID pandemic -19
Before the start of the submission of support - payment applications, the producers concerned must register to obtain their personal codes in the system via the website
