Evidence of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country in the last 24 hours remains worrying, with the possibility of an extension of the hard lockdown in sight based on epidemiological data.
Specifically, today, Thursday 18 February, the Hellenic Health Organisation announced that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 1,400, of which 10 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates.
The total number of cases is 176,059 (daily change +0.8%), of which 51.8% are males. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 50 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,497 are associated with an already known case.
There are 27 new deaths of patients with COVID-19, with a total of 6221 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.6% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 320 (69.1% men). Their median age is 70 years. 88.4% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1256 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
New Covid-19 patient admissions to hospitals in the territory are 181 (daily change -14,22%). The seven-day average admission rate is 215
patients.
