According to information from the Ministry of Rural Development, around 336,000 farmers and livestock breeders will receive AgroTypos, the return Special Consumption Tax on petroleum, announced by the government.
The total amount available will be just €60 million, and the relevant credit will be granted in the coming autumn or early winter, i.e. very late. Apart from the return, thousands of hetero-professionals remain and while the amount will be determined by the number of acres and the type of crop as declared in the OSDE, in combination with the fuel purchase invoices as declared by the fuel marketing network to the tax authority (My data). In addition, the amount of declared income from production for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021 will also be taken into account when determining the subsidized liters per acre. The exact limits of subsidized liters per acre and type of crop, in combination with the amount of declared income, will be known after the completion of the submission of the OSD declarations in October.
As Mr. Rizos Maroudas, speaking on behalf of the farmers who participated in the meeting, stated, On average, the refund will amount to €178 per producer, which is more of a tip than a measure to support production.. Mr. Maroudas announced the gradual withdrawal of farmers from the Nice blockade, stressing that he estimates that the maximum refund will not exceed €500. Finally, he and other producers who participated in the meeting focused particularly on Staikouras' statements about the primary sector and its contribution to national GDP, which they consider to be dismissive of the world of production.
