Payments and allowances from the Ministry of Labor in the coming days

Payments totaling approximately €590 million, concerning 1,183,549 beneficiaries, will be made during the week of April 19-23 by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, e-EFKA, and OAED. As stated in a relevant announcement by the Ministry of Labor, on Friday, April 23, the process of paying May pensions will also begin by e-EFKA for pensioners of the former IKA, whose AMKA ends in 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Specifically:

1. Between April 19 and 23, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will pay a total of €2.2 million for 4,984 payments.

In detail:

– €425,108 will be paid to 729 beneficiaries for special-purpose compensation relating to the suspension of employment contracts during 2020.

– €752,021 will be paid to 1,705 beneficiaries for the payment of special-purpose compensation relating to the suspension of employment contracts in January, February, and March 2021.

– €912,688 will be paid as special-purpose compensation to 1,712 professionals in the arts and culture, tour guides, tourist escorts, and other special categories of workers employed in the tourism sector.

– €37,548 will be paid as special-purpose compensation to 80 employees who are entitled to mandatory re-employment in tourist accommodation and tourist buses.

– Finally, €77,666.39 will be paid for 758 beneficiary payments (relating to the 2020 Christmas bonus).

2. The following payments will be made by e-EFKA during the period April 19-23:

Regular payments:

– On Friday, April 23, €505 million will be paid out for the main and supplementary pensions of 1,065,000 beneficiaries in May. These are pensioners of the former IKA, whose AMKA ends in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.

– In addition, between April 19 and 23, €12.2 million will be paid to 500 beneficiaries following the issuance of decisions on lump-sum payments.

– €12 million will be paid to 19,251 beneficiaries for cash benefits (maternity, pregnancy, sickness, accident, and funeral allowances).

– Finally, €6,500 will be paid to 14 beneficiaries for supplementary pension benefits.

3. The OAED will make the following payments during the period April 19-23:

– €30 million to 25,000 beneficiaries under subsidized employment programs.

– €25 million to 62,000 beneficiaries for the payment of unemployment benefits and other allowances.

– €300,000 to 850 mothers for subsidized maternity leave.

– €3 million for 6,000 beneficiaries who are enrolled in public benefit programs (payment of contributions to agencies).

It should be noted that no payments are scheduled by OPEC for this period.
