TO: the citizens of Kythira
My name is Stavros Arvanitis and I have been an employee of the Forestry Service for 32 years. I have been serving on the island of Kythira for the last 6 years. For the first time in my career in the civil service, I am forced to make these events public, as the irrationality of some people exceeds human limits. The current mayor, Mr. Charachalakis, personally complained to my superior that I am using my position to campaign for another mayoral candidate.
I call on any citizen of the island to publicly verify the mayor's allegations. I would also like to inform you that my only relationship with Anargyros Sofios, whom I am accused of supporting, is a friendly one and has nothing to do with my profession. Beyond all this, in a democracy, everyone has the right to support whichever politician or position they deem most appropriate.
Mr. Charhalakis, despite everything your outdated practices, know that I am not afraid of you and I hope to become the reason why no citizen of the island fears you.
With respect to the Tsirigotes
Arvanitis Stavros
