Supporting the Mayor of Kythera Efstratios Harhalakis this time our compatriots Fotis Samios and Kostas Kapsalis. Just a few hours ago they were announced by the combination of the Mayor «New Day». Read their biographies.
Fotis Samios was born in 1967 in Kythera, where he completed his secondary education. He studied at the Sivitanidio School where he received his degree in electrical engineering. He then returned to the island and since 1989 he has been active in trade, keeping a shop in Potamos. He is also involved in tourism in the accommodation sector, where he runs a small unit of rooms for rent. He has been elected as a Community Councillor of Friligianikon for 4 years and as President of the Local Department of Friligianikon of the Municipality of Kythera. He is married to the chemist Maria Protopsaltis and they have one daughter.
Kostas Kapsalis was born in 1968 in Katerini and has been living permanently in Kythera for 22 years, together with his family. He studied nursing at the Technological Educational Institute of Ioannina, from which he graduated in 1991. He holds a specialization in Surgical Nursing since 2001, from the AHEPA Hospital of Thessaloniki. She has been working at the General Hospital of Kythera «Triphylion» since 1997. She was an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Kythera Nautical Club about 15 years ago and has been actively involved in sports efforts on the island over the years, participating, organizing and helping where needed. A founding member of the Kythera Hospital Employees Association and elected president of it for many years and to this day. Elected employee representative on the Board of Directors of our Hospital for about fifteen years, up to the present day. Since 2019 until today he is President of the «Cultural and Cultural Centre - Children's Centres of the Municipality of Kythera» and of the Primary Education School Committee of our Municipality.
