Bad weather Live: Rain across half of Greece – Storms in Attica

Half of Greece will experience bad weather and rain today, while the other half will enjoy sunshine, according to the EMY forecast.

Temporary cloud cover will be observed in Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Sterea, Euboea, and eastern Peloponnese, while rain is expected in these areas from midday onwards.

In the rest of the country generally clear weather with local cloud cover over the mainland at midday and in the afternoon, when there will be local showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Winds will blow from northern directions at 3 to 5 and locally 6 Beaufort at sea.

At the same time, temperatures will drop slightly, not exceeding 22 to 24 degrees Celsius in the north, while in the rest of the country they will reach 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

Attica will also be in the eye of the storm from midday onwards.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Cloudy at times with local rain initially in central Macedonia and gradually spreading to other areas. From midday onwards, there will be sporadic thunderstorms. Conditions are expected to improve in western Macedonia from tonight.

Winds: From northern directions 3 to 4, locally 5 in the east and from the evening up to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 11 to 24 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia, 3 to 4 degrees lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: A few clouds will increase during midday and afternoon hours, and local rain and sporadic thunderstorms will occur on the mainland.

Winds: From northern directions 3 to 4 and from the afternoon in the Ionian Sea northwesterly 5 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 17 to 27 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus, 4 to 5 degrees lower.

THESSALIA, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EASTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: Few clouds, temporarily increasing with local rain and mainly sporadic thunderstorms from midday onwards. In the evening, the phenomena in Thessaly, the Sporades, and northern Euboea will intensify.

Winds: East-northeast 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the Sporades up to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 14 to 27 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Few clouds, locally increased with local rains and mainly in Crete isolated thunderstorms.

Winds: From northern directions 3 to 4 and from the afternoon in the Cyclades locally 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 19 to 27 degrees Celsius.

EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE

Weather: Generally clear in the Dodecanese with scattered clouds in the morning. In other areas, there will be few clouds, which will increase in the afternoon, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms in the north.

Winds: North 4 to 5 Beaufort and in the Dodecanese northwest up to 6 Beaufort. From the evening in the north northeast up to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 20 to 27 degrees Celsius. In the north, 2 to 3 degrees lower.

Euboea

Weather: Few clouds, locally increased with local rains and sporadic storms from midday. In the evening, the phenomena in the north will intensify.

Winds: Northeast 3 to 4 and up to 5 Beaufort at night.

Temperature: From 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA

Weather: A few clouds that will gradually increase, and from midday there will be local rain and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the north.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Cloudy at times with local rain and sporadic thunderstorms from midday onwards.

According to Sakis Arnaoutoglou's forecast for today, Wednesday, from midday onwards, rainfall will intensify in the Peloponnese, Central Greece, western Thessaly, and the southern parts of western Macedonia.

In the evening, the phenomena will be limited to eastern and southern Thessaly, northern and southeastern Sterea, central and northern Euboea, the Sporades, and possibly areas of the eastern Peloponnese.

We will also have snowfall in the mountains, not only in northern Greece but also in the central part of the country.

In Attica Afternoon showers are expected in the northwest of the prefecture, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 24 degrees.
