A special and historic moment for the Albanian community of Crete - and not only - was recorded on Friday 29 March 2025, with the official visit and speech of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, at the Indoor Gymnasium of Kladissos in Chania.
The event attracted a large crowd, with some 35,000 members of the Albanian community now permanently residing in Crete.
A special mention was made by the President of the Association of Albanian Teachers in Greece, who pointed out that all Albanian language teachers in the country are currently working voluntarily, stressing the need to support the education of the native language of the community.
