Civil Protection issued an order to evacuate the Megaloni area via the 112 emergency line due to the large fire that has broken out in the Askos area.
The Civil Protection Agency has called on both residents and tourists to move to the villages of Volimes and Schinari.
Strong ground-based firefighting forces are operating at the scene, while an Ericsson helicopter and two Petzetel firefighting aircraft are providing air support.
The front line in Koropi has been established
The fire that broke out shortly before 12:00 p.m. in an area of low vegetation in Agia Marina, Koropi, Attica, on Papagiannopoulou Street, has been contained.
According to the Fire Department, the fire is burning dry grass, and although there are scattered homes in the area, they are not currently threatened. Eighteen firefighters with six vehicles and one helicopter are on the scene, while volunteer firefighters and local government water trucks are providing assistance.
