In the establishment of the «Ergani II» and digital work card for the online monitoring of actual working hours of employees, the government is moving forward with new labor bill, which is expected to be put out for public consultation—barring any unforeseen circumstances—at the end of March.
Electronic work card and digital timetable
The same bill is expected to promote the «digital timetable» within the framework of the new «Ergani II» system. Employers will declare working hours or changes to working hours using digital options, which can be automatically processed and cross-checked in real time. The aim is to automate the control by the inspectors of Labor Inspectorate, who, before joining a company, will have a complete electronic record of all working hours and changes for all employees.
The implementation of digital timetables paves the way for the implementation of the employee's electronic card, which will be connected to the «ERGANI II» system in real time. The aim is to record with second-by-second accuracy, the employee's working hours or teleworking hours. The use of electronic cards is expected to begin on a pilot basis in large companies such as banks and supermarkets, and will gradually be implemented throughout the private sector, most likely with electronic staff attendance clocks (time recording).
