TZANI TZANETAKI STREET: THE TRUTH CANNOT BE HIDDEN...
Regeneration of the provincial road Tzannetakis
Our position on traffic regulations within the city of Gythio (sidewalks, etc.) is clear. We have demonstrated this a) through our actions as a whole and b) by taking precautionary measures against the «2020 pedestrianization» of Tzannetakis Street, etc.
Tzannetakis Street has once again become a topic of discussion due to the redevelopment (paving) planned by the Municipality, and some have «criticized» us for the appeal filed by the municipal councilors of the opposition parties (Nikolaos Lignos, Tzanetos Filippakos, Nikolaos Tragakis, and Pavlos Michalakakos) who requests the cancellation of the approval Technical study no. 53/2021 by the Municipality's Technical Services Department concerning the redevelopment of the Tzannetakis provincial road and the relevant decision by the Finance Committee. on «Drafting the terms of the tender for the auction of the project «Renovation and Redevelopment of the Municipality of Gythio.».
The relevant study defines the following: «coating paving with cobblestones, marking pedestrian crossings and parking bays». The redevelopment (paving) of the provincial road Tzannetakis facilitates the design for pedestrianization, and therefore we were obliged to file the above appeal.
The «Friends of the M.PRO.STA. Coalition» (Facebook page) their criticism and their «opinions» on our Appeal.
After we filed our appeal, the «Friends of the M.P.R.O.S.T.A. Coalition» (Facebook page) posted the following under the title: «REFUGEES AGAIN» publication, criticizing and spreading misinformation about Tzannetakis Street, this time including in their «menu» the delayed redevelopment of Zone A of the XZL in Gythio by the Municipality, in conjunction with the filing of our appeal. in Gythio, in conjunction with the filing of our appeal.
Let's get to the heart of their post.
For the project on Areconstruction of Zone A of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission which had the «famous» railings or so-called fasteners during the election campaign, all the necessary approvals were obtained in the summer of 2019!
The project has not been completed to date in 2022!
So who is responsible for the delay in completing the project? After all, the latest amendments by the Municipal Port Fund and the Municipal Council were made in 2019! So, the municipal authority's advertising campaign cannot be considered a success!
They divide our fellow citizens
He deliberately puts a mature project, such as the redevelopment of the HZL, alongside an immature project, such as the installation of paving stones in Tzannetakis., misleading citizens and advertising that the necessary permits have been obtained, thereby causing division among our fellow citizens...
Friends are well known...
We know who the «good friends» are who pretend to be the «neighborhood gossipers» and even «give themselves away» with their style, the way they write, and the excessive use of exclamation marks (!!!).
Expansion of biological treatment plant in the settlement of Mavrovouni.
In fact, when they have nothing to advertise, they are forced to advertise projects such as the expansion of the biological treatment plant in the village of Mavrovouni. Meanwhile, we have not seen any recognition of the efforts of the leader of our party, «Unifying Movement of Mani» Mr. Tzanetos Filippakos, who, through continuous interventions during his tenure as Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, managed to secure funding for the project and, consequently, its implementation, while the file for this project remained in a drawer for many years...
«The message we want to send to society» that «doesn't buy into nonsense» is that NO the design for the «pedestrianization» on the provincial road of Tzannetakis!!, downgrading the «role of the port» and the rest of the area.
Criticism – «opinions» from the President of the Municipal Council regarding our appeal.
Following the above unacceptable publication, a new post by the President of the Municipal Council followed, which directly supported their «views.» Since it does not differ greatly from their post, we will limit ourselves to the essential points of the President's «views.».
Only those who revolve around their own axis, ignoring the interests of our country, have goals.
The President emphasized, among other things, that: «They don't want to be on the municipality's side when the municipality says that the road is municipal (appealing to the Council of State).». However, we respond that WE we don't choose sides or «camps»... In other words, he has forgotten that in 2017 he voted in favor of traffic regulations (sidewalk extension) in part of TZANNETAKI PROVINCIAL ROAD!!!
He also emphasized that, «Why they do not want this road to be rebuilt... is something that remains unanswered!!!!». We respond that our appeal explains the reasons and ask that it be read.
WE We know what is in the best interests of our city and we have proven it, while we have not turned the port of Gythio into a huge parking lot, without any development since 2017, which, if it had been done, would have radically changed the situation and prospects for the development of the city and Mani in general.
We understand the antipathy of some, because their development model is limited to setting up beach chairs on the beach at Gythio or on the sidewalk.
Useful notes
Why don't they answer directly why they insist on making Tzani Tzannetakis Street a municipal road? The truth will come out, just like it did with the building at the port. Don't they realize that they're cutting off the municipality's capital and the Mavrovouni area from the main provincial road network with Central Mani?;
It is no coincidence that they want the provincial road to pass through the Aegion junction to Areopolis, thus blocking the passage from Tzani Tzannetakis, since during the summer season they have planned to pedestrianize the road, as they did in 2020, creating traffic chaos?;
They ignore the fact that Tzani Tzannetakis Street connects the port, which unfortunately has remained in this condition since 2017, and choose to have heavy vehicles entering and exiting the port pass through the city, since they will not be able to use Tzani Tzannetakis Street during the summer season.
Paving Tzani Tzannetakis Street with cobblestones is a means of designating this street as municipal in order to ultimately implement their plan (paving the street), which in our opinion will be disastrous for the city of Gythio, because it will divide the city in two and create insurmountable traffic problems. Furthermore, replacing the asphalt pavement with cobblestones is not appropriate for a primary provincial road network, does not constitute road maintenance as they claim, and alters its technical characteristics.
Unfortunately, the same is true for Ioannis Grigorakis Street in the neighborhood, because even the local councilors of Gythio from the mayor's party did not initially vote for the municipal authority's study, because they realized that the proposed parking spaces were minimal, meaning that they would eliminate 90% of the existing ones, with all that this entails for residents and visitors.
Subsequently, following pressure, they amended the study, without, of course, addressing the existing problems in the area as a whole.
Gentlemen, you are not telling the truth. when you accuse the opposition of not wanting projects in the city of Gythio. How is it possible that we don't want projects in the place where we were born, grew up, and love at least as much as you do!
You have exceeded every limit... FINALLY!!!
The difference is that we want functional projects that promote development and upgrade the city!!!
