A few days ago a small meteorological station was put into operation in Alexandrades of Kythera. It is a very affordable device which can give basic information about the weather in the area. More specifically the device has a thermometer, hygrometer, barometer, rain gauge and anemometer. In addition, it has a panel with built-in temperature and humidity sensors for indoor building. The device is WiFi enabled and is thus connected to one of the world's largest meteorological networks, the Weather Underground.

At the moment in Kythera there are five small weather stations connected to the Weather Underground and are located in Potamos, Logothetianika, Alexandradades, Frilingianika and Livadi. So the service Weather Underground has the ability through five stations to provide the most complete information possible on meteorological data, directly comparable and with the possibility of recording history.
