On Friday 18 October, the traditional holy water blessing for the start of the new season's activities in the Kytheraiki Brotherhood of Piraeus, as every year, took place with successful participation.
The opening was with the blessings and the blessing of the parish priest Father Charalambos from Panagia Myrtidiotissa N. Faliro.
The President Mr. D. Parisis in his address thanked the members for the support and voluntary action they provide, and referred to the contribution of the Vice President of the Board of Directors D. Kalaitzakis who supported with a significant amount the renovation of the premises of the floors of the association.
At the first meeting there was a large turnout of members, friends, young people and children where among others attended by D. Karidis Deputy Mayor of Culture and Sustainable Development of the Municipality of Piraeus, the President of the Union of the Ancient Anitkythyria, St. Konstantinos, the President of the KIPA Mr. G. Kasimatis and the editor-researcher-author of the Kytheraika newspaper Mr. M. Kalligeros.
Attendees toured the renovated interiors of the building, taking in a warm Cypriot atmosphere of members, children and friends. The evening continued with a sumptuous buffet and treats provided.
The association for another year starts its activities with a focus on children and young people, with teaching traditional dances, musical instruments and other activities. At the same time the programme will include visits to museums, events, excursions and much more.
