The commission an offence constituting a felony by persons who allegedly prevented the intubation female patient with coronavirus in Hospital «Evangelismos», who was a denier of pandemic and eventually passed away, is being targeted by the DA's office.
The intervention of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which is not directed against the medical and nursing staff of the hospital, was triggered by a series of publications, according to which 54-year-old unvaccinated and pandemic denier woman refused to be intubated due to her oxygen depletion and allegedly appointed a lawyer in order to prevent this particular medical act from taking place. The doctors of the hospital finally proceeded to intubation with a prosecutor's order, as required by law in cases of refusal by the patient and his family members in the proper performance of their duties.
The Public Prosecutor's Office is initiating a preliminary investigation into the case, with the aim of determining whether the case involves the commission of the felony offence of exposure to lethal danger and instigating it, as well as the offence of breaches of the law on the transmission of infectious diseases.
Already, the case file has been assigned to the Prosecutor, George Nouli, who will seek persons, outside the hospital, who allegedly prevented or hindered the timely intubation of the patient.
