The Inspector of Army Reorganization at the General Staff, Lieutenant General Michael Kluvas, who has been heading the Design and Construction Unit of the General Staff since its establishment in 2015, under the ministry of Panos Kamenos, visited Antikythera. The Mayor of Kythera Efstratios Harhalakis received him and posted the following on Facebook:
«Happy Birthday from the shores of Antikythera!
Following my recent meeting with the Chief of the General Staff, General Dim. Deputy Minister Kostas Katsafadou, I received in Antikythera the Inspector of the Reorganization of the Armed Forces in the Hellenic Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Michael Kluvas, who has been heading the Design and Construction Unit (DPCU) of the Hellenic Defence Forces since its establishment in 2015. I met Lieutenant General Kluva during my first term of service as Lieutenant Colonel and together we planned and implemented 3 important projects: the opening of the roads to the lighthouses of Moudari (Kythera) and Apolitara (Antikythera) and the major part of the road drift to Agia Elesa, which will be completed in a few months with the resources of our Municipality.
General Kluvas himself carried out an extensive underwater autopsy at the port of Antikythera River, in order to prepare a technical report of immediate repair actions as well as a Master Plan of new port works and infrastructure necessary for the small island. A similar study will be carried out by MOMKA for the Port of Kythera. In addition, he inspected the building of the lighthouse of Apolytara Antikythera, for which we have requested the conversion of the building into a military lighthouse of the Land Army.
Finally, we await the completion of the repair study of the bridge at Diakofti, by the specialized scientific staff of the Hellenic Defence Forces/MOMKA.
