Murder of 19-year-old: Government to investigate perpetrator's links to far-right and anti-vaccination groups

The possibility that the killer of 19-year-old Alkis in Thessaloniki may be linked to the circles that had caused incidents at the Stavroupolis School of Education left open the possibility that the killer of 19-year-old Alkis in Thessaloniki may be linked to the circles that had caused incidents at the Stavroupolis School of Education. G. Economou.

Open, left the government spokesman John Economou, the possibility that the perpetrator of the murder of 19-year-old Alkis in Thessaloniki be related to the (far-right) circles who were behind the incidents at the EPAL Stavroupolis and with the anti-vaccine “movement”, confirming that ELAS is examining all possible connections.

Specifically, the government spokesman was asked whether the government would investigate links between the hooligan with the events of the NAPAs and the right-wing circles and anti-vaccinationists. In particular, in response to a question, Mr. Police acted swiftly and very quickly, bringing the prime suspect in the crime to justice, and added: «The Hellenic Police will investigate the case in its full depth, looking for links and the involvement of others in the incident. With the same speed, it will do all that is foreseen to shed light on connections to other incidents of violence,» such as those at the Thessaloniki High School.

The government spokesman referred to the arrangements for the fan violence already brought by the government, considering that they are having an effect, as he argued that the reality is that the incidents of clashes have decreased, but he added that they have not been eliminated.

And he stressed that the government is stepping up its efforts to control any core of fan violence, building on the laws it has already passed and taking any other initiative needed.

He said that the issue of the speed of justice for this man will also be investigated, stressing that answers must be given as to why the adjudication of his previous action was delayed.

Asked whether the state knows the members of the associations and whether the government will take some measures in this direction, taking advantage of the steps that have been taken in the meantime regarding the digitization of the state and the experience of the Ministry of Digital Governance, Mr.Economou referred to the detailed announcement of the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis on the government's institutional initiatives and reiterated:

«Whatever more is needed - because this is a dynamic effort - will be done. There is no way we can compromise or tolerate this kind of behaviour.».

He argued, however, that: «It's not just a question of fan violence, but it's a broader issue that we need to look at in all its aspects and that is youth offending.».
