The establishment of a sealing body and the execution of administrative acts, all shops and businesses jurisdiction of the Municipality of Kythera is recommended by the competent Deputy Mayor Charalambos Sougianis with the 4th in a row issue at the next meeting of the Municipal Council, which will be held on 28 December 2022.
Attached to the proposal are documents from the Construction Department of the Department of Building & General Planning of the Municipality of Piraeus concerning the business owned by «Mavromatis IKE» located in a building in Livadi Kythera for which violations have been found and administrative measures are imposed, such as stopping work, legal and financial sanctions.
It is understood that the establishment of a sealing and administrative enforcement body is related to the undertaking in question. Recall that last year, in September 2021, there was a heated confrontation between the deputy mayor Charalambos Sougiannis and members of the major opposition faction «First the Man» Megalokonomos Stylianos, Nikolaos Magoulas, Calligeros Ioannis, Georgilas Paraskevas.

It should also be mentioned that in the past there was another business with serious violations, the Panagiotopoulos supermarket in Aroniadika, for which the Council of State annulled the building permit (the decision became known in February 2019), but we never found out whether the business was sealed. It is a fact that raises legitimate questions about when, where, how and to whom the decisions are applied. We need to know what happened even in that case.
Indeed, it is particularly interesting to see how the Municipal Authority, the opposition, the opposition and the relevant services deal with the issues of business legitimacy across the whole spectrum. The island remembers the trouble in Chora with the «illegal» tables in the summer of 2021, as well as the serials of 2022 with the case of non-resolution of the request for zoning of tables in Potamos, in front of the church of Ilariotissa. And it should be added that there are several pathologies of private and public nature that have been accumulating since the era of communities and prefectures, without any substantial solutions being given.
