He chose to wear the Greek national team jersey Dimitris Rallis! According to exclusive information from the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), ...the 19-year-old Greek expatriate from the Netherlands has agreed to join the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO), and on November 19 he will be in Serres, where he will make his debut with the U-21 national team, in a friendly match against Hungary. Rallis will travel next Tuesday (11/12) to Athens to finalize the procedures for issuing the necessary certificates, and in the coming days he will join the U21 team’s training camp under the guidance of Giannis Tausiánis.
Born in Tsvole on March 26, 2005, Rallis started out in the youth ranks at Heerenveen and followed all the necessary steps to make it to the first team. He is a center forward standing over 1.85 tall who caught the eye of coach Robin van Persie right from the start of preseason training. The Dutch soccer legend began to place increasing trust in the Greek-Dutch forward and gradually developed him into a key part of the rotation. He made his debut as a starter on September 27 at Almelo, where Heerenveen lost 2-1, but Rallis was the one who had equalized in the 59th minute. A week later, he started again, scoring against Zwolle in the 10th minute to set the final score at 1-1. He already has 8 appearances and 2 goals in the Eredivisie, and he has also played one match in the cup.
The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) moved quickly to call up the player to the national team. Rallis accepted the invitation and is thus expected to wear the jersey bearing the national emblem in a few days. He retains, however, the right to choose to play for the Netherlands national team until he reaches the age of eligibility for the senior national team.
