According to the Fire Department, the situation in Evia is very difficult, where a large fire has been raging since yesterday, destroying dense forest, while three firefighters have been slightly injured in the attempt to extinguish it.
For the safety of residents, the competent authorities began evacuating more than ten settlements yesterday. These are the settlements of Retsinolako, Kalamoudi, Chronia, Sipiada, Kourkouloi, Skepasti, Damia, Osios David, Koulouros, Marouli, Rovies, and Paleochori. The police, the regional authorities, and the municipality are currently evacuating the village of Rovies in Euboea, following orders from the fire department. At the same time, the village of Paleochori is also being evacuated.
85 civilians were safely evacuated from the beach of the village of Rovies in Evia.
